Likely causes

The manual lists 3 causes:

  1. Short in the foot switch harness.
  2. Foot switch.
  3. Ground control (GCON) ECM.

How to fix it

Work through these in order, as the manual's troubleshooting chart does:

  1. Do not press the foot switch while the machine starts up.

Call a technician: If the code stays when the foot switch is not pressed at start-up. Genie says troubleshooting and repair must be done by a trained, qualified person.
