Genie code H033

The high/low speed coil is shorted to battery positive. High speed is off and the machine runs in low speed only. [src]

Likely causes

The manual lists 3 causes:

  1. Short in the high/low speed coil harness.
  2. Shorted high/low speed coil.
  3. Ground control (GCON) ECM.

How to fix it

Work through these in order, as the manual's troubleshooting chart does:

  1. Check the device on the faulted circuit (coil, horn, alarm, etc.) for a short or open circuit; replace it if it tests bad.
  2. If the device is good, check the harness and connector between the ground controls and the device; repair or replace them if bad.
  3. If the harness is also good, check the ground control (GCON) ECM and replace it if it tests bad.

Call a technician: Any time this code appears. Genie says troubleshooting and repair must be done by a trained, qualified person.
